Alfred Nobel was born in Sweden. He had worked and lived in innumerable countries such as Austria, Azerbaijan, France, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Russia, Scotland, Spain, Switzerland and the USA. Travel was by land and sea. By the time he passed away in Italy in 1896 he had established companies in about 20 countries.
